Why is Photoshop Good for Web Design?
Photoshop is a great graphics editor. It was originally designed for photo editing, but it can be used for many other tasks. One of such is web design. Now days, nearly all professional web designers are using Photoshop to build websites because of its powerful features and easy to use tools. If you have never designed a website before you can simply use Photoshop to handle everything from design to code for you. However, this is not the best way to design a website, but it is possible, and if you are new to the web design world you can get a website up and running quickly without learning HTML and CSS.
Using Photoshop to design a website is not the same as designing a brochure for example. You need to know the limitations of the current web browsers and the functions available on the web. For example, you might come up with something that’s totally amazing, but later you find out it isn’t buildable. Understanding the limitations will allow you to bend the rules without breaking them! Many London website design professionals tend to prefer to design the layout and graphics in Photoshop and then slice the images afterward. So if you are serious about designing websites you need to use software like Dreamweaver along with Photoshop.

Photoshop Tips For Novice Web Designers
Have you thought about designing your own website? The truth is you don’t need to be a professional web designer to design websites? However, you do need some design background in order to create a decent looking website. If you have done some research yourself you know the first step starts from Photoshop or paper. You need to create the design first before any coding can take place. Fortunately, it’s actually quite simple when you know the basics of web design and how a website is structured. You might want to read some materials on this before designing one.
Creating a website layout in Photoshop will require you to know there are three main components – the header, the body and the footer. You might also have a sidebar. Think of these as containers that will hold your contents on the page. A web page is normally structured in this way, so if you can get your head around this you will find it much easier in designing it. You should create a folder in the layers palette for each one of these containers and put graphics, text, images in them accordingly. Doing so will keep your document organized.
The next thing you need to decide is the wide of your website. At the time of writing this article, the most common screen resolution is 1024px x 768px. Knowing this, your website layout should be no wider than 950px otherwise the scroll bar will appear. You can take a screenshot of the browser window and use that a guide to help you see how the page would look like with it. Simply cut out the content section after the printscreen command and then stick it on the very top layer. You can switch it on and off to see the difference.

4 Important Tips Of Using Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop has been used widely by most graphic designers all around the world. I understand that using adobe photoshop isn’t easy. If you learn any tricks to use adobe photoshop, it’ll bost up your performance of using adobe photoshop.
I read this article & found out that those tips are very useful for adobe photoshop user. But there are a couple of big gotchas I’d like to tell you about to save you some of the hours of frustration that I’ve enjoyed. Take A Look At these tips & speed up your work with adobe photoshop!
1. I Can’t Use a Tool
- This is the scenario: you select a tool and try to use it and nothing happens. Solution?
- Are you on the layer you think you’re on?
- Look at the Layers Palette to make sure you’re really on the layer that you think you’re on.
- If you’ve toggled the eye icon off for the layer you’re on, you won’t see the changes you’ve made until you toggle the visibility for the layer you’re working on.
- Are you working on a layer with the transparency locked?
- Are you working on a layer that is hidden behind artwork on a layer above it?
- Have you changed the opacity or blending type for the layer you’re on? If the opacity is set to a low number, you won’t be able to see your changes.
- Are the settings for the tool that you’re using preventing you from seeing your work?
- Check the settings for the tool you’re using in the toolbar across the top of the screen.
- If you’ve hidden the marquee tool and forgot to turn it back on (Ctrl+H on Windows, Command+H on the Mac) you might be working with a selection without realizing it.
- You might have the brush settings set to a low opacity. I’ve also run into an oddity where if I’m using the puck (cordless mouse) for my Wacom tablet, any settings in the Brush Palette such as scattering or smoothing will prevent the brush strokes from displaying. It’s just using the puck with the pencil or brush tool (or other paint tool) that does this. If I use the Wacom pen, everything works as it should.
- Did you use the Type Tool?
- You need to click on another tool in the toolbox or cancel out of the type tool before you can use other Photoshop features.
