In this psd-tutorial article, we will discuss the classification of fonts in graphic design, The types of fonts are one of the first things you will learn in graphic design classes. Fonts are divided into four types, namely Serif, Sans Serif, Script and Decorative. Each font has its own characteristics and usefulness.

If you pursue graphic design or interest in graphic design, you need to learn about the kinds of fonts in addition to studying graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Here is the definition of each font:

• Serif : the letters that have a hook / serif (slightly bulging out) on the top or bottom.
• Sans Serif : the letters that have no hooks / serifat the top or bottom.
• Script: the letters that resembled human handwriting.
• Decorative : letters that are not included in the above classification.

  The following are examples of each type fonts and a brief description of each of those fonts.
  

  Serif fonts tend to be used for anything formal.Serif fonts often used as body text and headlines. Serif Fonts are relatively easy to read in a long text composition, making them the best fonts for use in articles and any large body of text.

  

  Sans-serif fonts tend to be used for things that are semi-formal and casual. Sans-serif fonts are often used for magazines and computer screens.I myself prefer to use fonts San-seris compared Serif fonts. My favorite font from the list above is Myriad Pro , Segoe UI and Optima .

  

  Script Fonts resemble handwriting and generally give a graceful impression. One of its characteristics is not able to use uppercase (capital) in a single word because it will look very untidy. The composition of the truth is all lowercase or capital letters in front of it, the rest are lowercase. My favorite font from the list above is Ex Ponto Pro.

  

  Decorative fonts do not have characteristics similar to each other fonts. Each Fonts Decorative characterized respectively in accordance with the will of the designer fonts. My favorite font from the list above is Strumpf and Flying Penguin (very funny).
